Together
for Hope is the Fellowship's 20-year commitment to offer
hope with people in and around the nation's poorest counties,
all located in rural areas. This is done by listening to
local leaders and others who work among the poor in these
areas, building relationships of trust with them, learning
about existing resources, and walking alongside them to
find solutions. The hope is also for all of us to become
more attentive to the needs of the poor in our own communities.
Walk with the "most neglected"
people in America and pray for their resources to escape
grinding poverty.
Meet geographic, ethnic and cultural diversity
in Appalachia, the Black Belt, the High Plains, the Mississippi
River Delta, and the Rio Grande Valley.
Join with Together for Hope to support
local caregivers in action.
Serve state/regional CBF projects like
Alabama's Sowing Seeds of Hope, Kentucky's Mountain Hope,
South Dakota's Project Warm Embrace, Texas' KidsHeart and
more.
Explore this website for ways to become
involved with the Together for Hope. There are project needs
and volunteer opportunities, as well as informative articles
and calendar events. See the objectives,
principles, and Biblical
perspectives that inform us. Click here for a brief
history.
Objective Two is the “Plus.“
It might be called a 'spillover' effect. CBF missions partners
have gotten involved in addressing poverty with the people
in other counties: Georgia's Taliaferro
County (see also Touching
Taliaferro With Love), Kentucky's Powell
County, Louisiana's Tensas
Parish, Mississippi's Issaquena
County and Washington
County, and Texas' Cameron
County. Many other counties are being affected, too,
as volunteers take their commitment 'back home' to serve
with the poor in their own communities.
